NSS

NSS members are volunteers who work locally and regionally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto Service above Self. Interact is NSS's service club for young people ages 14 to 18 which provide support and guidance, but they are self- governing and self-supporting. Clubs can be single gender or mixed, large or small. Each year, Interact clubs complete at least two community service projects. Through these efforts, Interactors develop a network of friendships with local clubs and learn the importance of

  • Developing leadership skills and personal integrity
  • Demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others
  • Understanding the value of individual responsibility and hard work
The club undertakes community service projects with the prime objective of instilling in students a strong sense of responsibility and commitment towards the community.

Students get ample opportunities to engage in CSR initiatives enabling them to develop into well-rounded and compassionate individuals. The club collaborates with organisations and people who share the school's vision and ethos, and contributes to service programmes in meaningful, productive ways.

Eco Friendly

At KRIS we make green living a part of everyday life by considering the environment in everything we do from green energy efficiency to recycling.

1. Encourage Pupils to Walk
Use footprints to reduce your carbon footprint! Introduce “walking buses” so that children can make the journey together, enjoying exercise, fresh air and a green way to start the day.

2. Eating Green
Take a look at your school Lunch break. Organic Vegetables are sourced ethically and locally. Our school has 100% Vegetarian meals as they have a lower carbon footprint as compared to Non-Veg Meals.

3. Recycle
Sort your rubbish and place recycling bins in the playground. Soon it will be second nature for children to throw their apple cores into the food waste and their used paper scraps in the recycling.

4. Get Down to Earth
Let the children get friendly with natural world. we have dedicated a patch of the school grounds to growing vegetables.

5. Turn the Old Into Something New
Get creative and crafty – KRIS children to bring in old objects and upycle them into a new creation. Even rubbish can get a new lease of life. Turning rubbish to artefacts which is displayed every year.

6. Be Energy Efficient & Green Energy
Turn off lights and shut down computers at the end of the day. Keep doors shut to stop heat escaping and don’t block heaters. Check the energy consumption of your appliances and make it a major consideration when buying new ones like LEDs and 5 star energy efficient appliances. For environmentally-friendly classrooms, make sure they are well insulated and use sustainable materials. More over , we are using 100% green energy i.e Solar energy (installed Solar Panels at roof of the building).

7. Lessons in Living
Whatever the subject, there’s always something to learn about the environment. Calculating food miles, measuring rainfall, Rain Harvesting and learning about landfill are some fascinating ways to bring environmental concerns to life in the classroom.

8. Special Green Programs and Activities in Summer Camp
At KRIS, during our special and well designed summer camp activities nature is always been a integral part of it. starting from nature walk, turning newspaper to handbangs, Bird Feeder,Pottery, Nature Scavenger Hunt, Programs for special art for making Nature Jar Terrariums.
